84 kz700 zx6r swing arm and forks
19 Nov 2024 17:40 - 20 Nov 2024 12:49
Ok i started this journey about 8 years ago .. OMR got me excited lol .. I had a bunch of welder friends convince me we could do this .. 8 years later I have learned a thing or two but I still feel doubtful I can make it happen but I'm going to try ..
Stem has been pressed and made to fit the stock kz neck .. still need to come up with a set of stops so the forks dont hit my tank .. would also like to find a stunt triple reasonably priced so I can run dirt bike bars ..
Swing arm has had spacers made to fit the stock swing arm bolt .. couple issues im seeing is when the swingarm is in place the shock isnt lining up almost seems like the dog bones need to be shorter to allow the shock to stand more upright and angled towards the engine .. should I attach the tri member to the rear of the cross brace on the frame ? Say where the old center stand mounts are ..
Any links to other projects are appreciated i cant seem to get the old omr posts to come up was trying to look for pics on how others had connected the lower shock mounts ..

Welcome from the UK, take a look early in my build thread (link in my signature) for my mono shock conversion on a KZ. You can also use "bolt-on" risers for the handlebars (can also be seen in my build thread) Remember the location of the bottom mount is critical for the "rising rate" to work correctly on the shock linkage so sort the bottom mount first then the top ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
