its a chore for sure looking after them, its a bit like trading hockey cards or star wars figures, we are always trading up or having to buy collections to just get the one or two we want, the excess gets put in a container and a friend in the UK buys them once a year, i am always working on 3 at once and like to restore at least one or two a year but my preference is to leave them with a lived in look lol, my favourite bikes are the brit bikes, theres about 24 Triumphs in there, i just started to restore a barn find ELR and a Triumph Hurricane
Ive never come across a Z2 though, not sure if we got them here in Canada

We were doing two a year for a few years but I had to go back for another round of radiation and it takes a while to get your energy back. Besides we are full up when it comes to storage space. The ELR is a bit more crusty than our 83' CB 1100F, probably the last one we'll resurrect.
We're about done with this phase and moving on to just riding them and doing the maintenance as well as selling off a few. Currently we have the 82' CB 900F listed.
How many bikes do you guys keep running for riders?

funny thing is my friend doesnt ride any, ever, or work on them, he's happy just looking at them, iwhatever takes my fancy at any given time i ride, lately its been a 44 BSA M20 , 50 Square4, 50 thunderbird, i seem to spend more time lately working on them which i enjoy, we're both 64 so probably should start selling some off soon, i just sold a white euro ELR to someone in Scotland as it was too hard to register here, i guess i just like being immersed in it all and am jealous of the vintage bike scene in the UK, over here its more of a sunny summer day recreation thing rather than a lifestyle.
there basically no supporting industry here, its painful trying to get something repaired or remade

Brit bikes ya say! I've had my share of them and restoring a 1973 Norton 750 Commando at the moment. Gotta love those 3 different disciplines of hardware. There ARE still persons in the states that one can turn to repair/remake various bits! Just have to know where to look. Regardless of Brand a competent machinist, painter, plater and stockist pretty mandatory. Everything ever made has some follower that adores and has indepth knowledge pertaining to it, inherent flaws and fancies. Thing is persons that have this wealth of knowledge are just getting older and...fewer as the years pass. You haven't mentioned any specifics of what You're seeking?? Oh, the Z2 750 is a domestic only Japanese model. Canada/USA never received them, had to be imported.
