Replacing a bent swingarm bolt

Hello fellow Zeders!

I was wondering if someone could advise on how best to replace the 8x50 bolt (92001-1399) doodad holding the end of the swing arm in place.

Can this be done while on the side-stand? On the center stand? On a rear wheel stand?

Or is my 1978 KZ650SR D1A going to fall apart if I unscrew this bolt?

I bent the bolt while performing a... erm... complex manoeuvre... and was hoping to replace it without taking it into a mechanic.

I have performed my own basic servicing/maintenance/etc. in the past but would not say that I am technically... competent.

Picture for clarity - though note that it's not bent in this photo:

That is a chain adjuster. Remove it, transfer the locknut to the new bolt, insert the new bolt finger tight and snug down the lock nut. Ride.

Sh*t happens, so you don´t need to know any rocket sience or must to be an ingeneer to replace this bolt.
Like TexasKZ   said, simply replace the bent bold and check the chain tension.......
