Hello!
24 Apr 2024 18:40
Hi all,
Just recently purchased my first bike
(81 kz440 ltd) and wanted to make an account here to learn some more and get some help where need be.
I’m an engineer for a living and am somewhat mechanically inclined,
but this is my first time working on motorcycles and first time diving deep into engines.

Welcome from New Mexico! My first street bike was the '81 440 Ltd. I had TONS of fun and learned how to survive on the street with it. I had recently become enamored with the '78 Z1-R but knew I wasn't ready for the street. I wanted something like it so went down to the dealership to see about the '81 GPz 550. When they stopped laughing, they said you can leave a deposit with us for an '82. I left on a 440 Ltd and with the paperwork for next year's GPz. It was (for me) the perfect bike to learn the nuances of riding on the street (and working on 4 stroke motors). Share pictures - and your experiences!

so far I just have these two pictures.
Got it at the beginning of the month and have been tinkering with small maintenance things to get it tuned up and ready to go.
Havent ridden it too much but love the look and feel of it.
hoping to get my licence by end of May at the least and really start taking it out more and getting more road time!
