Gpz1100 1984 dfi swap to carbs

Hi all,

I have a gpz1100 1984 that im thinking of swapping to carbs from the fuel injection system, reason for this is the ones on the bike have been butchered by the previous owner and spares are lookong hard to come by.

Im after some advice on what carbs are best for this swap and what else needs altering to make the bike run smoothly. I understand the petcock needs moving but i was wondering what electrical modifications are needed or is it simply unplug the ecu that controls the injectors bolt on the carbs and set them up properly

Thanks!
Adam

My "Tribute" bike has had it's EFI removed and Mikuni BS 34mm CV carbs fitted.

Electrically, it is simple,  see here:

Jetting the carbs will depend on what exhaust and air filters you have.

Thanks for the wiring diagram, i fitted the carbs and unhooked the 4 pin connector to the Efi and removed them. I just need to know which wire i need to earth to the frame? Ive attached a pic of the wiring diagram for an 84 model

I've got a set of BS34's from either a 1000 or 1100 waiting for a rebuild.  While not cheap per se, carbs like these will hold true to the KZ heritage.  If money is no object, though, I'd get some RS34's or 36's.

I think Howards "terminology" is confusing you, from what I can see there is no "wiring" involved. I believe Howard is referring to the mechanical mounting of the igniter to ensure sufficient heat transfer  from the igniter into the frame so the unit doesn't overheat.

Thanks for calrifying guys i tested the bike after unplugging the efi 4 pin connector and all works ok. I fitted a set of 1985 gsxr750 slabby carbs and it runs surprisingly well, obviously im gonna have to balance and rejet them if necessary, currently on 128 main jet and 20 pilot jet
