Anyway as you can see from the photos, its a before and after project. I know some of the purist are cringing, but the build was all about building the KZ like my brother did in the late 70’s Its kind of period correct with the mods he did back in the day with some modern touches. I call it a resto rider mod. Its not a nut and bolt restoration. I just wanted to make it a daily rider with some old and new parts. I fix and changed everything it needed, and kept everything that was in good working order. It’s a blast to ride and brings back good memories.

You are correct, the bike runs great... starts easy, idles nice, cruises nice, but between 2500-4500 when you just twist the throttle a bit it has that little flat spot.Looking at the pics I can already tell you… POD FILTERS.!

Air corrector jets will get rid of that flat spot.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
