Hello all, a quick intro, 
I finally bought a kz/z1000, picked it up last Sunday and rode it 130 miles home.
a bit of a leap of faith I know,  it all went well…….until……….I got home.
Literally, I stopped outside my garage, took helmet off etc, and after 5 minutes I switched on the ignition and ping, the low beam went!!! it’s a sealed beam type so need to source a lens with replaceable H4 bulb. The DPO had only done 700 miles on it in 3 years. Maybe too much for the old girl!  I also can see the main fuse has or is getting a bit hot.
So plan is a new/used headlight and new fuse box, I’ll clean all connections with deoxit first of course! Looking forward to getting acquainted with this forum,  Im in the Fens btw, ( Cambridgeshire UK)

I know the main fuse is a common issue, is there a common mod?

Welcome from Leicestershire   they "by-pass" relay mod takes the coils (which are the single biggest consumer) off of the main fuse
