New member from Pennsylvania

Hello all.

I've been poring over the site for days. So much information to soak up. I purchased an 81 CSR that had been sitting half-disassembled for 25 years. It's a bit tired looking but no rot and it's all there.

Among other toys I own a 1200 ZRX along with a ZRX parts bike. I've been scratching my chin for days wondering what sort of project to make out of all this. I'll probably focus on making it safe first and then start thinking on what I might do further in the fall.

Thanks for having me!! Cheers

Much thanks, Wookie! I'll be picking up the bike this afternoon. Also picking up a new lathe. Busy day. Will be sure to post back with some pics of the bike.

Welcome from Michigan, I have recently picked up an 81 CSR 1000. Couldn’t turn down the deal. $600.00 for the complete bike but the engine was blown, hole completely through #1 piston. Like I said it was a deal I couldn’t turn down, it included aftermarket cams, 29mm smoothbores, and a chrome  Kerker. Just pulled the cases apart and the crank is welded, but number #1 rod is trashed. I’d like to see pictures of the main harness routing. I thought mine was wrong and pulled it out without documentation. Good luck with your project.
