Hello All - Fixing up a KZ1000p
13 Feb 2023 14:39 - 13 Feb 2023 15:01
Hi everyone. I just found this website and it has been a lot of help. I just brought my dad's 95 KZ1000p home from Vegas and I'm getting it running again. It sat in the garage for about 10 years, so I spent about $1600 getting the tank cleaned, cleaning the carbs, rebuilding the petcock, etc.

Very nice. Looks like it has all the cop stuff still attached. Might be illegal in some areas.

The pursuit lights are painted over, but I'm replacing those this week with clear lenses and the siren doesn't work. It runs rough and has more rattles than a nursery full of babies, but my dad loved this bike and I promised him before he passed away that I would get it running again. I took it for a quick spin around the block and once I get everything done, it's going to be a daily rider.

Hahaha, it’s true. It happened many times. I’d get on a country back road with but one car in front of me. Sure enough, the driver looks up to his rear view mirror and eases off the gas until he’s going 10mph under the posted speed. I always used the opportunity to pass.

I wonder if it is possible to mount an LED sign board on the fairing.
