Hi everyone,  I thought it might be of interest that im taking my 1990 police special from Maine to California this winter.  I'm in Nashville now,  about 3 weeks in.   I made an Instagram that you can follow my trip on (username is rick.milligan_) and gimme a shout about things I should see along the way.  I'm thinking about heading i40 west and coming back via i10 to Florida before heading north again.   Thanks
-Rick

Wow,  sounds like a great adventure. I recently made the trip the other way, So-Cal to Pennsylvania. Unfortunately it was in Penske moving truck, and I had no time to enjoy the sites. I did take the I-40 through the south west and would suggest it as there is some great scenery and places to be had along that route. Good luck to you and may the good times roll.

+10 On Barber Motorsports Museum. Plan for a whole day there, it’s not a quick in and out deal.
They have a Britten there.

I had one. I took it from Massachusetts to Raleigh NC to visit family. When I was three hours from my destination I fell asleep. I jolted awake when my hands came off the bars. Then again I was jolted awake when I sensed the bike veer into the other lane. So I pulled into a gas station to fuel up and drink a large black coffee. That kept me going for another forty five minutes til I started dozing again. One more cup of coffee got me to Raleigh.
The KPZ with its giant fairing, floor boards and unbelievable seat is waay too comfortable for long trips.

Good luck on your trip. I too planned to ride my KZP across the country but then I was seduced by the silky smooth 145 HP, six speed tranny, heated grips and cruise control of my 2016 FJR1300ES and that was that.
