Hi everyone! Eastern NC
28 Jan 2023 11:51
What is up everybody my name is Tim. I decided that I wanted to complicate my life by acquiring a 1977 KZ750 twin. It is in a non running state because of some severe electrical issues. I currently have a shop addressing that I can handle all of the mechanical but electricity is made up of voodoo and dark magic.

Welcome to the fun! Look forward to learning more about your new machine. There are members here who know the big twins well and appear to be most willing to share their knowledge.

Oh I am very much going to be sourcing a lot of help from this wonderful group of people. While i was kind of courting the concept of me buying this bike i was on the hunt for knowledge. I kept finding myself back to this forum over and over again. So now that i have this contraption once i get it back from the guys who are actually trying to diagnose why the electricals were a problem , I will have it back and then the fun will begin. I can tell from a few different things that the bike was regeared as in the front sprocket I know has been changed, it had pod filters and that the carbs were rejetted( so I'm told). And that the original slip on mufflers were rotted back into the Earth. I will be looking for answers on all of the above mentioned things so stand by boys and girls lol

Welcome aboard! Happy to have one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children around.
(I was with Uncle Sam's Animal Farm.)
A recommendation: find an OEM front fender or an aftermarket fork brace. The original fender included a heavy-ish bracket/brace: without it, the front end will feel somewhat loose/flexible/vague when riding.
Good luck!

oh hell yes! So the wiring was a mess, but has been fixed. Next on the docket is full carb rebuilds, and source mufflers for this thing. I am chomping at the bit to let this ole girl roll out!
