G'day - 1973 Z1 from Australia was created by blackozvet
Hello everyone, new member from Australia.  I have owned this bike since 1979, its a July 1973 built Z1 and I knew the last 2 owners before me.
Its been a street bike, a drag bike and a show bike and its been dragged (see what I did there?) out of a long hibernation to be turned back into a Jaffa street bike again.
I bought a GPZ 900r, ZZR 1100, then a Corvette and each time the Z1 got pushed further and further into a corner of the garage.
The poor Z1 is in need of a complete rebuild now.
There seems to be plenty of knowledgeable people on this group to interact with, so here I am !

this pic is the bike a few weeks ago.

Welcome!  Looking forward to more pics & the resto process documented.

There's a very passionate & active Z1 community in Australia.  The movie 'Stone' is celebrated every year there from what I understand.

Thanks guys - yes the Stone movie has a special annual run (I have never been on one, they are held in a different State)
I will post up a build thread with pics for the bike.

Got my attention. I’m curious to see the vin number. July ’73 could make it a very early Z1A. Vin number before 19999, or higher?

    Engine number is Z1E19110
The bike was crashed by the original owner early in its life (as was the norm with these bikes when they first came out) and was reframed with Z1F22235 which is probably an August 73 frame.
Im the 4th owner of the bike, and I know the last 2 owners, but not the original owner.
