G'day from Christchurch, New Zealand

Many moons ago in another century I purchased a Yamaha TX750 in 1973 at the age of 18. Unfortunately that bike didn't love me as much as I loved it and we parted ways but I never forgot the vibe of a 750cc 360degree twin. I've had a few bikes since then and the last 2, the most memorable ones, were a GS1000ST and a FJ1100 which I sold about 25 years ago. Since then my wife and I have enjoyed the open air feeling in a few MX5s NA (Miatas) and there's still one sitting in the garage. Not so long ago I developed the urge to get another bike (maybe it never left) and was pretty sure I was going to get a Hinkley 790 Bonnie but missed out on a couple of nice ones on a local auction site but then a '83 KZ750CSR appeared and it's now sitting in the garage beside the MX5. A few times over the years I'd considered a KZ750 twin but they're a rare thing here in NZ and so it never happed but now I'm the proud owner of an even rarer model. I'm intending to make a few subtle changes and by next summer it'll be ready for action. A big bonus here in NZ is that if a bike is over 40 years old the registration is about 10% of the cost of a newer bike which is around $600NZD per anum. I'll be looking through the pages of KZR for ideas and may need to ask a question or two from time to time as well.

Thanks for the welcome guys and when I have some time I'll try to work out how to add pics. Well, that wasn't too hard at all.

I've never seen one of these, not sure if the CSR's ever came to the UK (any of them) only Ltd's I think unless they have been imported. Looks like a nice bike, full of potential

Like you I had never seen one of these and to be fair KZ750 twins of any description are as rare as hens teeth in NZ. Apparently this was one of a shipment bound for Canada that was cancelled and they ended up coming here.

Super cool big twin KZ.  It doesn't get any better than that!

Looking forward to more posts...and photos.  Yes, we are a very visual crew around here (speaking for myself, mostly!  )
