Owned for Nearly 40 Years

Hello all I have owned this 1981 Z440 -A2 LTD now for nearly 40 Years and it has never let me Down in that Time the photo where take 34 Years Apart the one with my Daughter on in 1988 when she was 7 and the other in June 2021 it has had a lot of  modifications over that Time the and as some parts are getting hard to find I have had to find replacements or Alternatives the Gray Two into One 3D Printed Manifold is made of Hight Temperature Resistant Plastic that will go on this Summer with a VM32 Mikuni  fitted the other is the High/Low Switch that Ages and Breaks off so This has also been 3D Printed and when fitted with the old Contacts and New Springs works as good as new I hope you like the Bike as much as I do.
I have also a79 Z400 Twin  1972 Triumph T120V 1957 ,Ariel KH500 and a 1959 Mondial but the Z is Special as its easy to Maintain and is very Robust as long as its oil is changed on a regular Basis.

Great design and fabrication of the 3D printed parts.

You can make a few bucks making the hi-lo switch for Z1s. 46089-014  The nos ones you can buy are like glass.

Is the printing material you used called PEEK ? Very pricey!
I have successfully printed a couple parts for my "old lady" using PETG and ABS, and also some gaskets using TPU (Thermal PolyUrehane.

I'd be willing to take a shot at drawing it in CAD.  I've never tried to draw threads.  That seems like an interesting challenge.

I should have one of my own to measure.

I have the air box also. I could get some sizes off the “stud”

There 1st done in and Plastic as a prototype on a Hobby Printer then they are produced in PA12 by a Company that Specializes in 3D Printing on there Commercial Printer as they can produce them far Cheeper and of better Quality than you can on any Hobby Printer. The 1st task that takes the time is Measuring and Drawing the Part then Converting it into its Digital Format so that it can be Loaded onto the 3D Platform.
a 3D Scanner would solve this problem and Cost as printing commercially is the best option if you want more than 1/2.
The Prototypes are the Blue ones 4 Manifold Types Printed and the Best was then 2 where done Commercially in PA12 which is the minimum but I had 50 of the HI/Low Switch parts Done as that was the minimum for a small part and have used 5 so far and they are far more robust than the Original and work just as well.

Cold old England but the Summers arnt to Bad.

Yes that is the Reason I did them the plastic the originals where made with has aged and become Brittle these in PA12 are far more Stable and will last a lot longer.
