KZ400S in Minnesota

Hey Guys!
Been lurking for a long time, but it's time to get the 400 back on the road, so i figured it was time to take the plunge.

I've owned many bikes through the years, sport, dirt, and otherwise...
Current bikes are a '75 KZ400S, '81 XSEleven, and 2 Trail 70's that my grandpa bought new back in '69 & '70.

The KZ appers to be all original, except maybe the exhaust?

Welcome to KZrider!

Looks like the KZ400 external is in great shape!

the intake is modified with aftermarket filters if I am seeing the picture correctly.   You may have the original intake someplace?

nice bike and welcome again.

Welcome. I'm a big fan of the KZ400. It's a really fun bike to ride. Not all that powerful but small and light and well, different.
I need to get mine back on the road...

Check out the rear fender. You won't see a more beautiful rear fender on a Kz.  Some are similar, but the 400 got the best one.

And yes, the exhaust is not stock. Originally, the S models would have gotten a 2-into-1 exhaust exiting on the right side.
