G'Day from Western Australia
15 Mar 2021 20:21 - 16 Mar 2021 05:01
Greetings from western australia!
My name is David and I'm currently in the middle of a resto of an 83 GPz1100A2 Unitrak.
Its pretty much been torn down to the bare frame and has had all the bearings and sleeves replaced or cleaned up.
The engine has been rebored and a wiseco piston kit fitted along with a new camchain. The top end has had new valve seals and valves lapped. Clutch has been replaced, along with a few collars and shims that were worn.
Everything else has been repainted and all the brake lines replaced with braided.
At the moment its awaiting parts to replace a couple of oil seals in the shifter case.
I've done all the work myself as a bit of a hobby really. Just learning as I go along. Once the motor is back together it will be time for paint. I'm going to get this done by a paint shop as its not something i want to tackle myself.
I've attached a few pics taken during the teardown and a couple of later pics during the build up.
I shoot pics of everything as I tear it down as it makes it so much easier to see how it all fits on reassembly.
Looking forward to all the knowledge and info from this site.
Cheers, David

Welcome to KZR from Toronto,Canada.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
