1979 kz1000ltd orginal so I think was created by Bfly1988
hey my name is brad and i am from Pennsylvania i am in the process of picking a 79 1000ltd up waiting for the owner to get a new title. He says it is a orginal dont think it is but everything that is not i can take off to put it back to orginal condition. It has 10k miles runs pretty damn good for a bike that sat for sometime. But was wondering what is orginal and what is not will try to post some pic and if people can chime in and let me know it be greatly appreciated. Cant wait to start to ride this bike

WElcome to KZRider
I fixed your pictures
The final step you skipped was to click the insert all tab.

Highway pegs and case guards are not stock .
Im not sure that is a 79 paint job. Looks newer
Rear brake caliper is different than my 78 LTDs but maybe they made a change
Nice Bike

I agree with Dave the case savers and highway pegs are not factory but period correct. The rear caliper is correct. Pinstripes are correct but I think paint is wrong. Need to see the gauges but everything looks nice and correct. Check the serial numbers against the included photo.

Great survivor. Please don’t chop it up.

It's not possible to confirm originality without looking at the date codes. That said, I have a 1980 LTD and this one looks original to me. I noticed that the clutch and brake levers still have the original plastic covers, and in good condition. To me this is a positive sign that everything is original.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Paint looks different in the two photos, second photo it’s definitely blue. According to Zedder it should be Glazer Green or Ebony.

Need better pictures

I thought this was a 79 LTD.
It is a new members who we were discussing the paint with a few days ago.
Paint is I believe Black with Blue and Gold Stripes .. Where as 78 is Black with Red and Silver stripes / decals ..Same design as 79s
