Welcome aboard! We look forward to seeing pictures of your new acquisition .
One of the first things you will want to do is to identify the exact year and model. Then look at the list of downloadable factory service manuals under the Articles tab here at KZR. Download the one that covers your bike, and start planning to perform all the routine maintenance.
There are plenty of helpful folks here with quite a lot of knowledge, to answer any questions you have, and even some you don't even know you have

Welcome to KZR.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

And here she is, 81 with 34K miles. She looks sounds and rides good. Just needs a few small things fixed and she'll be golden. Any recommendations on a good place to get the handle bar controls and a wiring harness? Those are the only things that are still original and I'd like to replace them before they go bad.

I hope the roads are smooth and straight where you live. Has the front fender been in contact with the horn or something else in that area?
Have you checked Z1 Enterprises for the parts you need? There is a link to their website in the advertising banner at the top of the page.

What makes you believe the wiring harness will go bad? The harnesses on my 1977 KZ650C1 still are in excellent condition - zero problems. Did the previous owner fiddle with the harness? Ed

I live in FL so that all I have is flat straight roads lol. It has but I'm not sure if it's from getting rode or being strapped down. But the forks will get refreshed soon.
I've been checking out that website.

I just don't like old wiring. It has some aftermarket turns wired in and a few butt connectors but that's it. The butt connectors will get addressed this weekend with a proper fix.
