I am very sorry for your loss. My dad was a good shade-tree mechanic and a mechanical engineer by profession: he taught me and my brother most of what we know about wrenching. (The other things we learned by making dumbass mistakes.) Dad passed away last year and tinkering with old bikes brings back a lot of memories.

I'm not gonna pretend to know anything about anything, but I will say that while last year sucked, this year sucks a little less. Hang in there.

And yes they are purple handlebars and I'm not sure how I feel about them yet. They seem to get in the way of the key/ignition so they may get swapped out.
