First bike! 1980 KZ550 LTD

In January I started working for a Harley/Polaris/Honda dealership, which further ignited my desire to get a bike. I've been out on the road with a few work bikes, and decided it was time for one of my own. A good friend, and long time rider had this 1980 KZ550 LTD sitting in his garage for the last few years, and just has too many other bikes to give it the attention it needs. He did have it running, so I think all it needs is some fresh fluids, and the carb cleaned. It amazes me that this bike is 40 years old, as it's super clean, and only has 6,225 miles on it. It's been painted, but I love the color and accents. Eventually it may become a cafe' bike, but for now I plan to ride it as is. It even still has the factory tool kit under the seat. Not the best pic, but it's in pieces now as I try to get the carb off, which is proving to be a challenge. Looking forward to learning much more about this awesome machine.
