Hi all, Just acquired a 1980 KZ750 Twin, the only original bits look to be engine, frame & wheels, I normally like my classic bikes to be reasonably original, however in this case I thought there might be some scope change bits along the way........ not sure exactly what yet though........

Welcome aboard.
There are several 750 twin owners around here, and a larger number of past ownwers (me am one).
There is a stunning customized one that is currently undergoing another engine rebuild for extra big power.
Please post some pictures.

Welcome RoyB, Lots of good KZ750 Twin reference info in the archives.
The starter clutch is a notorious weak link in the system, lots of posts about this issue.
Poke around, post questions when you have them, pictures when you can and again welcome to the forum.

Cheers guys......I think starter clutches is a problem related to a lot of early bikes, I also own a Yamaha TX750 which was notorious for it (now fixed)

I think the Yamaha Virago is the king of crappy starter clutches. I have heard of new bike salesmen who were afraid of starting one before the sale was complete, for fear that marble-grinding noise so many of them made would scare off the buyer.
