Hey all, new to the forum after seeing all the great info people had on these amazing machines. Recently picked up a ‘79 KZ650SR project. I have decent experience working with single cylinder thumpers and two stroke dirt bikes (carb tuning, engine rebuilds, and the like), but I’ll probably be on here a lot to figure out how to fix my points and whatever else comes with a multi cylinder bike.
Glad to be on the forum and I’ll try to give my limited knowledge where I can :side:!

Welcome aboard! Be SURE to buy a Kawasaki Service Manual for your specific year and model bike as there are major differences between the various KZ650 years and models. The manual explains how and when to do every maintenance and repair function. I've owned my 1977 KZ650-C1 since it was new and I would not think about owning it without the manual. Ed

Thanks! The bike came with the Clymer manual for ‘77-‘80 KZ650s as well as the “Motorcycle Owners Manual” pictured, is the manual you mention something different?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationYes. I would highly recommend you get a genuine Kawasaki Service Manual for your bike's exact year and model. It will contain more appropriate info for your exact bike than the Clymer manual. The link below MIGHT show the manual that covers your bike, but to be sure ask the seller to give you a list of models that manual includes. The list is printed on the reverse cover of the manual, so the seller will have no problem finding it. If your exact model is not on that list it is the wrong manual. Ed
