Hello from Maine!
24 Oct 2019 04:53
Hello from Maine! I used to own a 81 GPz1100 back in the day. It was my sole transportation for several years. Planning some mods to my sons KZ700 this winter.
He paid $800 for the bike. Runs great and doesn't look bad for a 35 year old bike>>

Very nice bike. Good luck with it.
I know a bunch of people from Maine...all (but 1) are Maine Maritime guys. In my industry (power generation) we call them the "Maine Mafia". All top notch.
My best guess is that you had a GPZ, your son has the KZ now and you'll tinker with it over winter .....by June you'll have your own once again.

beautiful bike! I didn't even know there was a 700. I wonder if that's a smaller bore 650/750 or a bored out 400/550.

It was a 750 with a 2mm smaller bore to avoid a new U.S. tariff designed to save H.D. from bankruptcy

....and it was not just Kawasaki, all the Japanese manufacturers were forced to bring their 750s to 700cc, for a couple of years, to avoid the tariff, over 700cc, begged by H-D to the US goverment......to their credit, once their head was above water, H-D told the US goverment it was OK to relax the tariff.
