Rode my first bike in 1966 and then off and on until the 80s then rode solid for 22 years. I quit riding about 5 years ago because of my knees but the draw to motorcycles was still there. This July I saw a 74 KZ400 on Craigslist for $250 and thought I could get it and ride the back roads. The bike turned over and was fairly complete, the only thing missing was a side cover. Once I got it home I thought that it would be nice to have a restored bike and I felt that I had just enough experience to tackle the project, so it is now dissembled in my garage and have now started the cleaning repainting process on the frame.

Hopefully between my two repair manuals, this forum and my neighbor I will have a nice bike by next year.

I could show you pictures of my dissembled bike but I'm m sure everyone here has seen some versions of that..

Glad to be on this forum.
