New to forum. was created by Goin South
Thank you for your acceptance. I've been involved with motorcycles since I was a kid. I'd like to show you my latest design/build that I completed in October of 2017 which took almost 2 years to complete. The winter of 2017-18 I did some updates. This is my 1982 Kawasaki KZ1000J2 Sport. On this build the only original parts I used were the original main frame(slightly modified)and original engine which had 4,507original miles, coil brackets, engine mounts, seat pan(slightly modified),seat lock, both rear fenders(slightly modified),headlight lens, Igniter and Pulse coils. It now weighs 479lbs.with 4.5gals.of fuel, including 3/4 quart of additional oil. Stainless fasteners used throughout. Engine was cleaned, prepared and painted with ceramic high temp. 2K paint. Powder coat was used throughout the build. Custom pieces I made.Every part is new or refurbish to as new condition with no exceptions. The following donor motorcycles were used:2000Kawasaki ZR750,2000 Kawasaki ZRX1100,1993-98 Kawasaki Zephyr 750,2013 Kawasaki ZX14,2000 & up Ducati,1985 & up Honda Rebel 250,This motorcycle is a comfortable, fantastic ride with performance up-grades and less weight.

What are the two hoses that are connected to your exhaust header?

The hose on the left is for crankcase breather and the hose on the right is for valve cover breather.

Interesting. Was that a choice you made, or a requirement where you live? Are there any one way valves in the system? Is there enough heat in the collector to ignight the oil mist, or does it just get jet propelled out the back? I have not seen a solution like that and I am genuinely curious about the theories and thoughts behind it.
By the way, I really like your build. I bet it is a joy to ride.

No,it was my choice. There are no valves. The exhaust creates a vacuum to help pull crankcase pressure.Engine will spin easier. Also no crankcase vent filters needed. What little mist if any is burned and/or blown out. No baffle wrap.Car drag racers used to do it till they later developed pumps to relieve crankcase pressure. Oh yeah,it's a blast to ride.

I should have said before, but your bike is stunning. The custom tail piece fabrication is fantastic. And those Tomforde pieces are really sweet.

As for the vents, I've also never seen this type of arrangement.

Originally both of those vents would have been fed from the airbox.

For the valve cover hose, do you still have the vacuum actuated valve over the valve cover in the system? By connecting this hose to the exhaust, it seems like you've sort of converted what was originally a fresh air injection system into something a bit like an EGR system?

For the crankcase vent, typically this would be connected to a (slightly) negative pressure source to pull gases out of the crankcase. It seem like connecting to the header would put a somewhat positive pressure on the crankcase. Unless you have some kind of venturi inside the pipe? That would be neat...

The exhaust as it goes by the openings it draws( a vacuum so to speak) the crankcase pressure The less crankcase pressure(even on stock bikes) the easier/quicker it will rev. If your engine is sound(doesn't burn oil) it's a great set up on the street. No catch can or filters needed.I've seen exhaust set ups with a pipe sticking out slightly inside at a angle(usually modified for racing or hot street), but on a stock slightly modified engine for the street(no high compression )I've seen no difference as I've done them both ways on stock compression engine.

So I read above and still have a question.
You have two points to pull out oil mist .
Is the motor sealed ? Or did you add a intake somewhere.
AS shown with two different size and location lines dumping into
the header at two different points are the two lines fighting each other
