Greetings. I just acquired a kz400 that has just been restored.
The previous owner did a stellar job on the cosmetics but I want something to ride as well as show so I'm going to have a few question for the collective wisdom.
I also own a Sportster. Once the Kawasaki is up to snuff this will be it's replacement.
Previous Kawasaki's included a Z1, a 125 (actually belonged to my wife but she let me drive it) and a KZ650.
The Z1 was the first in town, I had pre-ordered it.
The 125 was amazingly fun in the snow.
The 650 almost lost me my license in speeding tickets, it had to go.

Welcome. We'll need to see some pics soon. The KZ400 has great lines especially from certain angles... like a beautiful woman.

Welcome!
The KZ400 is great fun to work on; it was my winter restoration project this year.
What year is yours?

It's a 1974.

I didn't realize I had any replies here because I didn't get any email notifications. Do I have to do something other than subscribe to the thread?

Also, I have a searchable pdf manual for the '74. How can I upload it to the service manuals section?

In my list of former Kawasaki's I forgot the Ninja 250 that I turned into a naked bike. I built it a couple of summers ago. It was a lot of fun to put together but I really didn't care for the ride so I got rid of it almost immediately.

Here's a shot of the new bike.

Found the problem. Gmail thinks you're spam. I'll have to figure out how to white list the site.

That bike looks amazing. The rear fender on the Kz400's is what "makes" the whole bike!
Welcome to KZR... look forward to seeing your posts!

It is a nice fender. Too bad they stuck that jumbo tail light on it. I'll rectify that someday.

Don´t change the tail light, it´s authentic for the early 70th bike style.

That is so but it looks like it came off a trailer.
