Hello from Norway
27 Aug 2018 03:14
Hello everyone!
This is the first time I participate in a forum, and the second MC I am restoring. The first one was a Honda NC30 and now I will start working on my Kawasaki KZ550 81.
I bought my Kawa as a result of a night shift at work, without much to do. I taught it looked cool, and wanted to give it a transformation to become a scrambler. But changed my mind after I saw it.
The bike looks great as originals!
So the task now, will be to fix it..... It starts, and runs, but I don't think it runs properly on all the cylinders, one of the exhaust pipes are black, while the others are chrome. It is really heavily started (but starts every time), engine leaks oil, rare wheal are leaking air, blinkers doesn't work properly, and there is a dent here and there. and someone has done a horrible welding job on the exhaust..Looks like bird shit, as we say in Norway
So far I have moved it, so it stands just outside my living room window. I removed the gas tank, ordered a new air filter, and have to go and buy some more tools
And then a bit about me. I am 27, pregnant at the time, and not allowed to work (not sick, but not allowed, because I work as a industrial climber), so have got plenty of time for my bike for the next months! I am a mechanic, and have been into bikes and mopeds since I was 16. But mostly been into riding them. Maybe an average of 15000km every year. Also I am from the west of Norway. So I ain't no sunshine rider
I hope to get a lot of helpful tips and tricks about the KZ, and that I can contribute with some helpful stuff as well! I am super exited to get this bike up and running smoothly!

Welcome aboard!
Many of the members here have an addiction to motorcycle pictures. They will pester you unmercifully until you post some.
By the way, what sort of things do you climb at work?
