Just picked up this 77 KZ1000 I am carrying out a bit of ride and restoration, meaning I’m restoring when I have to replace things, the bike is pretty honest tho the only things that aren’t right I can see is the pod filters , exhaust, vm 29 smooth bores, I will be addressing the exhaust and filters ( I have original air box) but not sure about carbies bike goes well, doesn’t idle but that for another post.

Wow! that is a beauty, and it comes with 29 mm smoothbores, they are considered high performance carbs , and are very sought after, congratulations on a great find. Your exhaust looks like its a Kerker and its another sought after exhaust. Personally I would not change a thing. If it is not idling , between carb 2 and 3 there is an idle adjuster, and if that does not work, you need to clean your carbs.

Thanks it’s a good bike also have a z 650 taken out to 720 and CB750 k1 but took the 1000 for a ride through the hills to test what a hoot, think the carbs will need to come out tho.
