As much as I have been around powerboat racing, drag racing, endurance sports car racing as a pit crew, I still believe one of the most beautiful pieces of machinery was my KZ900 LTD. I saw them back when they were new, but I had a fun " ex production road racer" Honda CB 550 that raced at Sonoma & Montery races. ( The foot pegs were shortened for ground clearance)..... My first bike was a "hand-me-down" Honda 305 Dream.... A very comfortable "bouncy" bike. After loaning it to my brother, it was slightly crashed.... I then bought a 1971 Honda CB 350... ... I road that a lot & started to enjoy improving it... Then got a surprising - fast Honda 450. Then that 550....

So,.... I moved to Southern California in the mid '80's... I bought the ZK900 LTD ( finally)... it had only 14,000 on it. I had a couple issues, then discovered Curt Jordan of " Jordan Engineering"... He is know for the Clymer Manuals, and his GENIUS with any motorcycle on the planet. He got my KZ900 LTD running great.....

He built me a Yamaha FZ 750 that was a screamer w/ a racing clutch..... Well,... STUPID ME, I sold the LTD to a guy in Texas...... Later I got a super built Yamaha FJ 1200 from Curt......

Now,....living in Bradenton, Florida, I joined this great forum..... I will be searching for a fairly good KZ900 LTD AGAIN.....I am semi-retired and wish to restore it.... I miss that bike.

I do have some hard to find KZ900LTD magazines , manuals & other rare related stuff, that maybe a current LTD restorer may like...??

I just want a whole bike.

Uh, my member name, "mountie".... My father was a Royal Canadian Mounted Police, & Grandfather was a North West Mounted Police.

Yea... stuff like that !! Also a friend built a model of the LTD. I still have it. ( A "mini-me" version of my wish for a full size bike) ... I should take a picture of it.

Welcome. I'm a refugee from California too... The only thing I miss is the food and splitting lanes.
The FZ750 is an amazing bike.

Ya... That FZ 750 was a bike Curt Jordan used as a "dyno" / test ride for the racing engines he built for the Willow Springs Race Club in California. He then bought a Dyno, and re- engineered the bike for me, using a custom built engine with a redline of 14,500 RPM, & a close-ratio gear box, with a race clutch that at downshift, uses 1/2 clutch, so you will never lock up the rear tire. HELL, THE REAR SHOCKS WERE VALUED AT A $1,000 ..... Before he re-did the bike for me, He had a stroker motor in it, using a 1,1000 cc head, full-race carbs, AND A 1,600 RPM MONSTER motor in it that he said "I had to experience".... It was like driving John Force's Top Fuel Funny Car!!
He said, " Don't miss a shift.... it will rev to 22,000 rpm & break!! "
I found out how to wheelie at 70 MPH... All's you had to do was move your throttle wrist a bit!!
Then he re-configured the bike for me....
It was a PURE PERFECTION... a wet dream to ride.
