Hello, and welcome. Like was said earlier, that is a '78 KZ1000A2. It also still has a KZ gas tank. the fenders and turn signals are KZ pieces also. One way to tell if it is a KZ is the passenger footpeg/exhaust mounts unique to the '77-'78 KZ1000(Z1000). The mag wheels, seat, grab bar, rear caliper, and handlebars appear to be off of a '79 or '80 LTD1000. I'm almost positive that is a 19" front wheel because of the way it fills the KZ fender. The BS34 carbs are off of a later model('81-up) KZ/LTD/Popo bike. I would seriously be looking for a set of 26, 28, or 29mm Mikunis to replace those with IF you can't get them dialed in. That looks like a SS Delkevic exhaust system. Not a bad pipe, and a cheap alternative to a new Kerker. Once tuned, this is going to be a nice bike.

Thanks, you know your stuff, I've fit new valve seal's, done the shims, lapped in the valves, cleaned out the carbs etc and it now runs great. Looking forward to putting some miles on it. I may put some better front brake calipers on though, I heard somewhere that early gpz1100 ones fit.

Be careful taking the corners on old tyres , they may look good but they get hard and don't warm up right.
