n00b from Chicago with a KZ1000
17 Oct 2017 18:26
Hi everyone! My name is Al and I recently picked up my wedding present to myself, a 1982 KZ1000-K2 (LTD). Not a fan of the cruiser look, but the more I ride it, the more I'm digging the soft suspension and seat.
As she sits now:
It came with a Kerker 4-1 exhaust on it and I absolutely love the way it sounds!
Bought it from a younger guy in Delavan, WI during my honeymoon. My wife's father was a former MX racer who has had a couple near-death wrecks and she is a total trooper for not having a complete meltdown about this project! My plans over this fall/winter are to knock off as much rust as I can, clean up ratty wiring, paint the tank, and fit some flatter bars.
Any advice or suggestions for this build are welcome and encouraged!

Projects have been started with worse. The new wife didn't have a meltdown?! Signs of a keeper for sure! Definitely keep the passenger pegs and the seat for 2 on this bike! Congrats on your wedding and your new ride.
I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress
