Kz1100
02 Mar 2017 19:20
Hi im new to the site,im building a kz1100 ,it needed a lot of parts .i found a rack of carbs on Ebay ,they were 34s in the description but they were 32s, they were cheap so i keep them i did fit them on the engine, they rev fine and idle great but on a cold start ,the engine take a few cranks to get it going,is this a common issue with the ignition ?or i need to enlarge the choke circuit or it affect the Pilot circuit .That is the project im in.

Welcome.
Are you trying to get it to run without any air filters? Those old cv carbs are notoriously hard to set up with individual filters. Without any filters at all, they will be quite a challenge. KZs are pretty uncooperative when cold, even in stock configuration. Withe the carbs and exhaust open, all the jets will need to be increased in size significantly. Unless you have a wide selection of jets at hand, it might be easier to start with something like a Dynojet Stage III setup as base jetting, and go from there.
