Hello all, noobie here. I just picked up this kz650 for cheap and was wondering if you all could help me identify the exact model before I go looking for an original service manual on ebay.

Engine# KZ650BE061072
Frame# KZ650C-13208

Is this a 79' KZ650B2 engine on a 78' KZ650C2 frame?

The Mikuni carburetor is stamped 102 2A. Is there anything specific I should know about these?

Are there any shops I should be aware of in the Tampa Bay area? Thanks in advance.

So far I have added an inline fuel filter, changed the oil, put new spark plugs in and a new front tire. Pulled and cleaned the jets and float bowls. It was pretty clean and the gaskets looked good. I put some cheapo pods on it just to see how differently it ran and ended up having too much trouble getting the stock air box back in. So for now the pods stay. The rear left blinker came broken so I threw some plastic blinkers on until I found something that suits the bike. There's still quite a bit of work to do but it runs and I'm enjoying it.

Attached are pics. My dad is newly retired and a life long bmw rider so I picked this up to ride with him.

It's probably a 1978 650-C2 with the original engine as both numbers fall within the 78 model year range.
The carburetors are probably the stock originals as well, but they may need to be re-jetted for the pod filters.
New airbox ducts are still available. Z1Enterprises.com is where I get most of my maintenance stuff.

That is one sweet Guzzi he's got there.

Don't let the "B" in the engine number confuse you. All the KZ650-C bikes had the "B" in the engine number; there are no engines with a "C" in the engine number. I believe that is most likely the original engine; as Martin says it's in the correct range for the frame. Ed
