Proud Belgian Z650 B1 owner
08 Jul 2006 13:01
Hi All,
I am new here so let me introduce myself.
I am from Brussels, Belgium and I just bought myself a Z650 B1 from 1977. There is still some work to do on it but that was the purpose of the project. I am really interested in getting some repair experience. Work to be done: master cylinder front brake leaks brake oil, tires are worn out, chain needs to be shortened, exhaust is almost ruined. But the good news is that I managed to start it after 30 minutes, which is good knowing that the bike didn't turn for 8 years.
All help and suggestions are most welcome,
Take care,
Jan

Welcome Jan!
You have a fine motorcycle...many people in this forum have 650's and much experience. There is also at least one (maybe two) 650 forums on the net. I'm also proud to meet a Proud Belgian:)

Welcome.
You say the chain needs to be shortened? Check the chain for wear and stretch as well as both sprockets for wear. You should replace the chain and both sprockets at the same time.
Give us a picture of you bike too please.
