Seat change and sissy bar.

Hi! I am a new owner of a 1980 KZ750 LTD. I want to change the seat and ordered one on eBay. the slots for the pins don't line up under the seat. I think it's because the set I bought is for a spectre. Is there anything I can do? I added a photo of the new seat sitting on the frame. It looks good but doesn't fit underneath.
Also, I want to get a sissy bar and luggage rack, any tips about buying those (sizing)?

I have the same bike and it came with a two piece seat, if you look in the picture gallery here you can see what they look like.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

So I have to buy a two piece seat? When i look on eBay they're listed as 1980 KZ 750 seats. I figured I had options.

Yes and if you look in E-bay , they either sell them as a set or separately. You can ask in the wanted section here, maybe someone has a spare., or you are going to need to modify the bottom of your seat in order to be able to attach it.

For direct fit. 80-83 KZ750-H Ltd. 81-83 KZ650-CSR. the csr seat is 1-piece as are some of the Ltd H seats.
I put an 82 750-Ltd seat on my 81 650-CSR. and recovered it w a Travelcade saddle skins seat cover.

For a luggage rack & sissy bar, there are universal fit K&G combos from back in the day available on eebbaayy. they can be listed in all sorts of ways, often times depending upon what bike they were on. KZs. Honda CBs. Suzuki GS models. etc etc. you may need to come up with some simple brackets for the rear mounts. easy. the front sliders attach at the upper shock studs.

1981 KZ650-CSR w 550Ltd wheels 750E mufflers & 750-H3 Ltd seat.

Thanks for the info. I was going to buy another seat that wouldn't have fit.

Whats wrong with the old seat? If the base is still good you might be able to take the foam and cover off the new one and fit them on the old base.
Failing that, you could take the hinges and lock off the new seat and remount them in the right place.
Just a couple of thoughts. Im not familiar with this bike but buying another new seat should be a last resort.
