Hi my name is Derek and I'm in the process of putting a 1980 KZ750E back on the road. I'm looking forward to
learning all I can from this site!

Hey man,

I'm in Torrance and just finished a complete restoration of my '81 750E. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks! I really have no idea what direction i want to go with this bike.
First up is getting the engine running and then figuring out aesthetics.

Looks like all the essentials are there to get started. Saddle looks barely used and I like the dual discs up front

Yeah the seats are in very good condition but i don't think I'm going to run them on this bike and yeah the dual discs are going to be
nice after I put the stock front end back on.

Welcome Derek.

I'm no 750 expert, but it looks like you have another model 750, and not an E model.
Don't think the E came with a two piece seat.
LTDs/CSRs did I think.

And is that a 16" rear wheel?
Again, not an E model item, they use an 18" rear wheel I think.

I don't think the seat is original to this bike.
i bought this bike as a basket case with a bunch of other parts thrown in.
The numbers stamped on the neck and the engine say KZ750E and match the title so that's what I've been going by.

I was going to ask what the VIN # on the steering neck was.
All 750s have a KZ750EE****** numbered engines.
