The 1st pic is the best one I was able to get. Not enough room on my patio to get a better shot. I stay in a apartment

Nah, cutting the frame, no fenders etc. That's called safety equipment. I don't care for the extra switches to keep you from starting the bike while the kick stand is down, clutch pulled in, headlight on, no kick start and so on ether. :pinch:
If a guy tries to start a bike while in gear without the clutch pulled in or ride with the stand down, he has no business on a bike PERIOD.
Damn Liberals.

30 Aug 2015 14:03A stock bike in good condition will ALLWAYS, get more money than a hacked up bobber, unless you plan on keeping your bobber for yourself, you will NEVER get the time & money you put into it , back

I started on the bobber build. So I guess I'm keeping it......haven't really done anything yet but paint the tank and side covers purple. I also blacked out the engine and headers with some high temp paint

Brake shoes. If you don't know the age of the rear brake shoes, replace them. The adhesive that binds the linings to the shoes can fail over time, so a lining can come off & get jammed between a shoe & drum, locking the rear wheel. It happened to me when rolling the bike off the center stand, so it does happen. And you can't really assess their condition by looking at them --- mine looked new but were old old old.
Get OEM or Vesrah. 42019-012 = VB-412.

That sounds more like a singular event. I don't think I've ever seen a shoe brake separate from its backing.
Anyone else seen that happen?

Yeah, but the bike had been abused or water damage. Brakes are cheap, your life isn't. Cheap insurance.

Re: First bike ltd550
01 Sep 2015 09:34 - 01 Sep 2015 10:11It may not be common but does happen. Since then, I looked into it & found several others who reported the phenomenon. Dans MC repair course mentions it somewhere --- at the time I had been using that site for reference but didn't see his comment until after it happened. Lucky for me I had just started getting the bike road worthy & hadn't removed the rear wheel yet. stuff works out every now n then.missionkz wrote: That sounds more like a singular event.
