New guy from Minneapolis

Hi folks! My name is Sean, Born and raised in Minneapolis. A few weeks ago I picked up an 81 KZ650 from a friend on the cheap. It is an uncompleted cafe racer build. I've spent the last few weeks figuring out / correcting his work.

I prefer to call myself "eccentric" instead of crazy.... :lol:

The tank is off a 78-80 (?) Honda CX500.

Hey, man. Nice to meet you. I'm from Minneapolis as well, and this weekend I'll be working on my '74 KZ400. Do you do a lot of First Thursday/Third Thursday stuff? You look like the kind of guy who would dig the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride...

And nice tank! It looks like a '78 or '79 CX (since those years had the angled bottom, which it looks like you've modified). I had a '78 as my first bike!

I used to do 1st Thursday, but I've been off two wheels for a few years.

I tend to be a lone wolf and avoid group rides (middle child syndrome)

And yes, tank is off a CX. the P.O. started welding the bottom skirts on the tank, he only has one tacked on, not sure if it's going to stay or not.
