1983 KZ750 LTD Shaftie from Lou, KY

Hello all, been lurking for a while and love the site so I thought I would include myself a little more and show what work has been done to my Kz750 Since I have owned it. It is the motorcycle I learned to ride on and I couldnt love it more.
This is what the PO sent me when I saw it liste on CL for $600
I eventually got it for $450
The excitement started immediately when on the they home slack from a ratchet strap fell between my bed and cab and wrapped around my driveshaft, causing the ratcheting mechanism to explode violently shattering my back window.
Got it home and on the lift and got to work. Cleaned the carbs and got a new air filter and it was good to go.
Took the stock bars, mirrors and lights off as I knew I would be getting more modern ones.
I liked my buddies D3 grips but could not justify $54 on grips so I found these almost perfect knock offs for $18 and couldnt pass them up.
I learned that someone tried to lift the seat with a ton of force while it was still locked and broke the seat pan and made it where the seat flopped around a lot so I decided to try making my own. It would be lower which was nice since Im on the short side and the original pad had already had fleece blankets added to it but was still pretty wore out after 36000 miles.
It came out ok and I rode it like this for a while, painted a bunch of parts black since anything chrome originally was pretty beat anyway and I like the look,
Made a matching sissy bar so my lady could relax, but knowing I welded it she really didnt trust it! So off it came
Got pretty good at spray paint jobs and redid some of the parts I wasnt happy with the first time.
Here is my LED tail and you can see where I cut off the original metal bracket that held the turn signals. In order to clean it up I remounted them up further opening up the arear around the back a little bit.
Here is my 12 volt outlet with phone charger installed
And my phone mount I made
My super easy plate relocation since I am not running the stock tail light.
And a general shot of how it looks today.
