New member, long time reader in Northern Illinois

Hello everyone, I guess I said hi in another section of the forum when I should of been here....

I have ridden motorcycles for more than 40 years. Dirt bikes as a child, a very clapped out 500 H1 at 16. My enjoyment, fascination and outright love of motorcycles has only grown stronger through the years.
I've seen some truely awesome Kawasakis on this site and finialy decided to join.
I started riding crotch rockets back in 96 and loved the handling and power. Then last year my brother was cleaning out his garage and dropped off a 78 KZ650. After cleaning out the carbs and installing the Kerker pipe that he still had new in the box, rebuilding the master cylinder and calipers I kicked it, it fired and I went for a ride. .....you couldn't get the smile off my face. Bikes like this is the reason I began riding in the first place!!!
As I posted elsewhere I have a 82 1000J that I purchased new back in 1982. It was the first motorcycle that I had ever bought new. I've ridden it from Chicago to the Florida Keys twice. It's made over 200 drag strip passes. About 10 years a go it dropped a valve and has sat under a cover in the garage. I'm currently in the process of resurection and could use all the help and advice everyone here has to offer. I'm going for the ELR look. 20 years a go I put all the bodywork on it and now would like to give it more of the actual Lawson / Muzzy racebike look.
