Newb from Ohio

Hi all, new to this forum but not new to the KZ world. My 3rd street bike was a kz650. I have since owned a 1977 kz1000, a 1975 z900, and a slew of modern fuel injected bikes. I currently field a nitrous assisted hayabusa, as well as a 2006 n/a GSXR 1000 in the NHDRO all motorcycle drag racing circut. I decided to snag this 1977 KZ650 my friend got for free, so my price was a whopping $100 lol. The poor bike sat outside for decades, so prettymuch everything is shot, except the frame, body (whats left) and my ambition. So stay tuned, I will be starting a project thread. I will be morphing this little kz650 with a 2005-2006 GSXR 1000. I'm building this because I'm not ready to slow down on a harley, but I am ready for comfort on long rides lol. But rest assured, it will make apearances in a few 9.50 heads up races too lol.

What part of Ohio.

I live in Butler County. I'm a mile from Tri-State and 5 miles from Edgewater drag strip.

I'm from the Lima area, Marion County Intl Raceway is our home track. I race with alot of cincy/dayton boys, and was actually talking about going to Tri State in a few weeks, Are you familiar with Page Racing? Or Tony Robertson? I race NHDRO with those fellas, good guys.

I know Dave really well. He built a KZ engine for me. I stop in a see him every month or two. He has been very kind to me with his time and knowledge. You cant find a better BUSA guy, seems like his engines stay together from what I've seen and heard.

On Tri-State.......its a redneck - red headed stepchild track. I know Dave wont go there. They really don't prep the track and its a ice rink on test and tune nights. If you are planning to come down, contact Dave first and get the skinny on it. I would hate to see you make that trip and be disappointed. Now Killdare and Edgewater put on great races.

He is a great guy, I had him build my busa engine a few years back, and have been buds ever since. I heard that about Tri State, but also heard their tnt is better than our local tracks tnt lol I know pretty sad. I've been to E20, I really liked that facility. They treated me like gold, and the surface isint that bad either. Dave is awesome about sharing knowledge, he even taught me how to degree cams lol. Now I build all my own motors, but Dave is always a call away. Plus he is funny as heck lol.

I have gone south and east to the Carolina area but no farther west than ILL.

My farthest venture west is Lucas OIl Raceway Park in Indy. Man I love that place too lol.
