Newb checking in from Wisconsin!! was created by tazaroo
Sup Folks? Taz checking in from SE Wisconsin. I've been riding bikes since the early 80's and I'm looking into acquiring a 77 or 78 Kz1000 within the next few years. I'm going to need that time to do my best to educate myself about these machines with the help of folks here. I haven't owned a motorcycle made in Japan since 1989 but my first bike was a 83 Kawasaki KE 175. My current lineup in my garage is a 73 Triumph Bonneville T140V 750 and a 2012 HD Road King. I'm far from being a brand snob and I love motorcycles. Pretty much if it's on two wheels it cool with me although scooters freak me out. ;)

Welcome TAZ :cheer:

Always nice to have new blood to freshen up the mix. I own and ride different brands and bikes for different occasions as well.
Lots of great people here that are always willing to help a friend in need

Welcome Tazaroo. From west of Chicago here. Wish you the best on finding a KZ. I Ride up into WI quite often and get to the Rockerbox event as well as a Slimey Crud Run now & then.

And OLKZ, your 78 was how I found my 77 back in 2009. It came with the crash bars, fairing, sissy bar, big padded saddle and luggage rack. I have a sport touring bike so went back to stock trim with suspension upgrades. Here is what it is looking like today.

Welcome from Watertown!

A note if you're thinking of attending Rockerbox on June 7. It is now being held at Road America as part of AHRMA vintage weekend.

I will be there, though circumstances might dictate the cage if I don't get something running soon...

Nice! Looking very pretty there. So what do you mean "your 78 was how I found my 77" ? Did I inspire you somehow? Or did your '77 come with all the stuff like mine has?
