Been lurking a little and learing a ton since I bought my little 550 a few weeks ago.
The bike started and I rode it around before I bought it for $950 here in Canada. Nice little bike, 550F Spectre Shaft drive with about 10,000km and a little road rash on it.
Was trouble staring when I bought it, the guy was using ether to start it, but It would fire right up once warm.
I pulled the plugs and found them all carbon fouled. One (#3) cylinder has a fuel delivery problem, so there is that to deal with.
Got an air filter and new plugs on the way, I'm going to pull the carbs soon, if they are really bad, I'll send them for ultrasonic cleaning, if not, I'll just clean the needles, jets, bowls and put it all back on. Change the oil and filter, and hopefully it will fire right up, and I can get to fixing some of the cosmetics after that.
Anyone else out there have a 550 Spectre?
