'83 KZ1100 with 3500 miles

Hi I'm new to the forum and I'm in the process of buying an '83 KZ1100 with 3500 miles. Unfortunately the bike is not running and has been sitting for 12 years. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who knows someone in the San Fran area who knows how to wrench these bikes? I would like them to get it running, service it for a reasonable price. I can work on bikes, but when one has been sitting this long there maybe somethings that need to be done to it before I attempt to start if. I'm wondering if there is rust in the tank.

Get a service manual for your model, start reading and do as much as you can yourself.
