Hi all,

Recently purchased a 1980 kz550 ltd. And looking forward to getting it on the road. Still gathering ideas on how I want the finished bike to look but Like some of the cafe racer style bikes.
Being a complete newbie to restoring bikes but having a metal working background I will be relying on sites like this for a lot of technical help.
For the moment I will try and get the bike running better and then plan out how to tackle it, no hurry as it's a long term project.

Welcome and looks like you are off to a good start. Good luck with it.
1980 KZ1000 LTD-B4(MK II engine) - Progressive suspension, MTC pistons, Dynojet Stage III, all wear items replaced, WFO paint scheme(1978), etc..

Past bikes- 2 1976 Kz900's, 5 1975-76 Honda CB750's, Honda 500 -4, Honda 250, Honda 125, Honda 100, Suzuki RM 250, Honda XL350, Kawasaki KLR 650, etc..
