Another New Guy with an '82 KZ 750 LTD

Howdy everybody! I've been looking for a good bike community and it seems I have found it. I recently bought a 1982 KZ 750 LTD and a 1981 Yamaha Exciter 250-T. The 750 was my daily rider until the clutch went out and I found a couple other problems (i.e. 20mm front sprocket nut missing, fuel run-off through air cleaner, and a couple other fun little treats\chores\surprises I don't think that it's firing all cylinders either, so now that it's winter-time (rain, snow, cold, grr...) I am going to start tearing into it and see about making it run pretty before the sun decides to grace us with it;s presence again. I am a huge fan of the detailed builds and walk-throughs that I have seen on the site. I hope to be able to share some of my progress with you as well. I am an auto mechanic but really would like to build bikes, however I don't want to go back to school (we don't have a bike program close) so I'll try to absorb from KZR and perhaps become a closet bike mechanic and make a name for myself locally. Opening my own shop would be awesome.

I'll put up some pictures of my bike before I really started working on it and throughout the winter you'll get prettier and prettier pictures... if the wallet holds up

I am gonna make an old 80's drop-frame beach chopper out of it. It should be a really fun body project. Totally on the back burner though. The KZ is top priority. One good thing about being single is it's not weird that I only buy my bike Christmas presents this year My old man's got a Honda Silverwing 500 and a Suzuki 1200 Bandit that we're working on too. Love bikes of all shapes and sizes. So much more fun that making drag cars and demo sleds. Less (easier) metal work too!

Looking to make a frame-up custom from scratch with my dad sometime in the next year or so. It'd be nice to make him something special while he can still ride
