New member and new to own a KZ was created by Eleventy7
Hey all. Wanted to say hi. I'm new to owning a motorcycle let alone a KZ. I had wanted a cycle for quite a while but couldn't find anything that I really liked. Inherited a 1976 KZ900 from my late neighbor a week or so ago. Didn't realize how much I would really like this bike. Working on getting it up and running and back in shape. I'm sure I'll have many questions. I've already learned a lot from reading through the forums. I'm attaching a pic of what it looked like when I rolled it home, and how it looks now after a bit of cleaning. Can't wait to get it on the road.

Sorry to hear your neighbor passed, but good to see the bike ended up in your hands. You did the right thing joining here. These guys know that bike inside out, as you've been reading. No other place on the web as informative as KZR for your bike.
You'll really like the way that bike rides once you do the overdue maintenance.
Got a service manual for it yet? I'm sure there is a pdf version link here on KZR, I just don't have that one book marked. Someone will probably post the link. A wiring Diagram will be in "File Base".
Good Luck.

Kawasakis from that period bring back memories for a lot of guys. I get guys stopping me all the time to reminisce about their Z1, KZ900 or KZ1000. They seem to mistake my 650 for those larger displacement bikes. Easy to confuse them after 35+ years I guess. Then there are the guys who had 650s and remember them vividly!
