I just picked up a winter project bike that needs some motor work. 1979 SR650 D2 The bike has been in dry storage for about the last 10-12 years. Apparently the cylinder studs were pulling out of the cases and needs to be Heli-coiled. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this before. Also I cannot locate at this time the exhaust from it and I believe it was stock. Is there something special about this model I should be aware of? I know from pics it had the cross over type headers.
Someone spent a lot of time on this bike detailing it out and some motor mods also. Can't wait to try this thing out but most likely will not be till next Spring.
