Hello from UK, new member with KZ650

Hello everyone.
I stumbled across this forum when searching for inspiration on what to do with my new KZ650. I found royalratch's amazing project and thought I should sign up

My new bike was originally a 1978 KZ650C, a previous owner has some time ago hired a company in scotland to convert the front a rear end to use a ZXR400 setup. The bike was a bargain and is a great start. I was looking at doing something with an original bike, but when this came along with the major modifications done it made sense.
I've not taken too many good pics, but here is one

I'm hoping to clean up the front end and the bars so that there is less stuff there. This will probably require a new dial and a rewire. Along with trying to remove as much stuff from the bars as possible.
After that I want to change the seat area to be more cafe racer style. Something along the lines of this:
