Long time lurker of the site. I finally thought I'd make an account. I ride a 1978 Kawasaki KZ 650, it's a problem child, but maybe if I throw enough money at it she will turn out ok and will live a good life.

Welcome aboard! I suggest you take a close look at your front axle clamps; they appear to have some gap at the front. If they do, you should consider correcting that condition as it could lead to a failure of the axle clamp studs and hurt you. Here are the instructions from the Kawasaki Service Manual for mounting the front wheel on a KZ650C or D model. Ed
